In the mountainous provinces of the Northwest, at altitudes above 2,100 meters, where the land is shrouded year-round in mist and clouds, the essence of heaven and earth nurtures a rare and ancient tea variety known as Shan Tuyet. These ancient tea trees have thick, rugged trunks—so large that it takes two or three people to encircle them. Some of these trees are over 500 years old, growing entirely naturally in wild tea forests. They are not only a vital livelihood but also a profound source of pride for the people of the Northwest highlands.
The most precious tea is made from carefully selected buds—this is the finest grade, known and cherished by generations as “Medicinal Tea” (Dược Trà).
The local people rise early, from 4 to 5 a.m., at the moment when yin and yang meet, to handpick the finest young tea buds. These buds are then dried by the skilled hands of artisans using time-honored, secret methods passed down through generations.
Yet despite its immense value, Shan Tuyet ancient tea has long been primarily purchased and processed by Chinese traders into high-end products sold at premium prices. Meanwhile, this treasured tea has yet to reach Vietnamese tea lovers at its true worth—due to the difficulties in harvesting, processing, transporting, and preserving the tea, as well as traditional perceptions about tea culture.
Recognizing the true value of Shan Tuyet ancient tea and its health benefits for the Vietnamese people, KBF_Japan Import-Export and High-Tech Investment Joint Stock Company was founded with a humble aspiration: to produce premium tea products that can stand shoulder to shoulder with the world’s finest teas, crafted by Vietnamese hands and delivered to the Vietnamese people—preserving the essence and heritage of Vietnamese tea. At the same time, we hope to help local communities in the Northwest highlands achieve a more stable life with higher incomes.
