Mộc Đỉnh Trà – White Shan Tuyết Tea is known as the King of Teas, traditionally reserved for royalty in the past. In Vietnam, Mộc Đỉnh Trà is classified as a rare and exquisite tea and is always in short supply.
Origin of Mộc Đỉnh Trà
Mộc Đỉnh Trà is made from 100% intact one-bud leaves from ancient Shan Tuyết tea trees growing in the Northwest provinces of Vietnam, at elevations ranging from 1800 to 2100 meters. The area is covered year-round by clouds and mist, absorbing the essence of nature. Local people harvest the tea early between 4 and 5 a.m., the time when the yin and yang energies balance, which is also when the tea buds are at their best. The tea is processed using a secret traditional manual method by local artisans. All these factors create a fully natural, top-quality Mộc Đỉnh Trà, deserving the respect of tea enthusiasts for generations.
Characteristics of Mộc Đỉnh Trà – White Tea
Mộc Đỉnh Trà is selected from the buds of Shan Tuyết tea trees, which are covered with pure white downy hairs and have evenly sized tea leaves.
When brewed, the tea has a naturally clear liquor, usually pale yellow or honey-golden (depending on the tea maker or brewing method), but predominantly white. On close inspection, tiny white hairs can be seen on the tea leaves’ surface.
